Sabrina Glaser

Head Trainer and Coach

A passion for horses, sport and Olympics have been fueled throughout Sabrina’s life by her rich equestrian heritage. Her parents produced many horses, one of which was Adonis, who competed at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. She has also drawn inspiration from her Great Aunt and Uncle who represented Switzerland in Olympic Show Jumping multiple times.

Constant and continued learning is part of the gift of life and horses.

Sabrina embraces this philosophy by having regular help on the ground, from fantastic local coaches, as well as the support of her coach mom, Gerda Glaser. She has also spent time at the Kwantlen Farrier School and 4 years studying business and accounting at BCIT; although, she says it takes her longer to shoe a horse than run a marathon!

Sabrina has gained well rounded experience through Pony Club, training in Europe, galloping and training TB racehorses, coaching and training eventers and developing horses for international sport and sale. She has produced over 25 horses to Preliminary,  5 to Intermediate FEI 2*, and 2 have become FEI 3* athletes.

By continuing to operate her business, Excalibur Equestrian, in Langley, BC while pursuing Eventing at the International level, she hopes to inspire young athletes in her community. Giving back to her community that has supported her over the years, she assists in BC Young Riders XC course walks and recently volunteered and was elected as a Director of Horse Trials BC, the Chair of the Safety and Rules committee and a member of the High Performance Committee.

Pursuing her own path to the top, Sabrina is currently named to the Canadian Eventing Team Development Squad on Rembrandt whom she has trained since a 3yr old. Their aim is a team spot for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. This is Sabrina’s 6th time being named to the Development Squad for Team Canada and it is only through the continued support of her fabulous sponsors and owners that she is able to continue this journey.

“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”

Dorothy Hall

Head Groom and Assistant Trainer

Dorothy has been a part of Excalibur Equestrian since the beginning of 2017. She began as a working student with her 13.3hh Connemara pony Lyrical Lightening and after a year, became Head Groom and Assistant. Dorothy has now competed her pony up to the Preliminary level of Eventing with several top 5 placings at Training level and hopes of competing in the FEI ranks.

Born into a family that has always had a great love and appreciation for horses, it is no surprise that Dorothy does as well. Her grandfather is in the Racing Hall of Fame and her dad has won Leading Trainer at Hastings Racetrack 2 years running and previously managed the stallions and breeding operation of the largest breeder in BC.

Her years in Pony Club, grooming for Hall Racing Stables, time spent as a working student for Tik Maynard and Sinead Halpin and her incredible work ethic, attitude and attention to detail, make Dorothy an invaluable member of the team.
